Harry S. Truman Good Neighbor Award

 

The Harry S. Truman Good Neighbor Award Foundation has invited the University of Kansas to screen nominations for the Henry J. Talge Memorial Scholarship. The foundation announces these awards at their annual banquet each May which the awardees must attend. The foundation places special emphasis on conflict resolution. Nominees must be KU students pursuing courses of study in the general areas of international relations and diplomacy. In addition, nominees may be either US citizens or foreign nationals and must demonstrate potential for a career in or contribution to international service. US citizens should plan to study abroad during the fellowship period and must be available to participate in at least one Good Neighbor Award Foundation function after they conclude their study abroad program. International students are expected to return to their home countries at the conclusion of their formal studies and should be available to attend at least one Good Neighbor Award Foundation function during their studies at KU.

Two (2) non-renewable scholarships of $5000 are available to be awarded the following fall semester.

Nominations for these student scholarships are limited to two (2) per department and must be ranked by the department. Please nominate each student for all scholarships for which they are qualified. Nomination deadline is 5 pm, Wednesday, March 7th, 2018. Please complete the Nomination form.
