Transcript Information for All Applicants

Application Requirement

For processing purposes, you may attach scanned versions of official transcripts to your application. A printout from a student portal is NOT considered an official copy.

NOTE: Documents uploaded with your application are not considered official. KU does not consider transcripts that come from applicants or that have been in the applicant's possession as official.

Some departments require official transcripts at the time of application. Check the admissions requirements for your program.

Enrollment Requirement

If you are admitted to a program, and accept the admissions offer, you will be required to submit an official, final transcript for GPA and degree conferral verification by your second semester of enrollment.

You may be admitted with the transcript/s you uploaded to the application; however, Graduate Admissions must receive your official, final transcript - sent directly from your institution in a sealed envelope or through an electronic delivery service - before you will be permitted to enroll for your second semester. The official, final transcript must show that a degree has been conferred. There are no exceptions.

Information for Applicants with International Credentials

For those who earned a degree from an institution outside the U.S., additional documents may be required to fulfill both the application and the enrollment requirement. Copies of official transcripts may be submitted with the application (see information above); however, see below for information on how to submit official documents for the enrollment requirement.

Transcripts that are in a language other than English must be accompanied with English translations.

*The countries below are a sample of our applicant pool. We follow World Education Services for guidelines on required documents; WES evaluations are not required. Click here for countries not listed.
