Biography —
Dr. Tonya Mitchell-Spradlin is Director of Wind Band Studies and Associate Professor of Music at Penn State University. She holds the Agnes Scollins Carey Professorship for the College of Arts and Architecture (‘24-’27). Mitchell-Spradlin has a diverse background as a conductor, clinician, adjudicator, educator, and speaker. Engagements have included regional, national, and international events ranging from State College, Pennsylvania to Oberwölz, Austria. Under her direction, Penn State’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble has performed at the prestigious Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh, PA and has been an invited ensemble for the College Band Director’s National Association Eastern Regional Conference in Ithaca, NY.
